Founded by Renè Ramillon in 1952 in Monastier de Clermont, the sportswear company Moncler owes its name to the small town where it was born. Specializing in technical clothing for the mountains, from the ’50s and ’60s onwards, Moncler garments become a must-have for mountaineers and industry insiders. It is in the ’80s that it creates a commercial style through the ultilization of the down jacket in the city.
