About Etro

Etro was founded in 1968. The company is based in Milan in a building that also contains the paisley textile art archive, housed in the company library. Jacopo Etro, creative director, later recalled how ever since he was a child he spent a lot of time copying fabric designs and experimenting with his own creative style. Gerolamo Etro introduced the paisley pattern in 1981, which became synonymous with the fashion house in 1984. The company is also present online, as well as in stores and boutiques.
