RED WING

In a story that defines the American dream, a shoe merchant named Charles Beckman noticed a demand for comfortable, durable work boots, but there was no supply. So, in 1905, he founded the Red Wing Shoe Company, taking the name and logo, as a memorial gesture, from a Native American named Red Wing, the leader of the original inhabitants of the upper Mississippi River territory.
