Patagonia was born in 1970, when Yvon Chouinard created his first sportswear line. He started selling rugby shirts that were particularly popular with mountaineers, so he created his own clothing line and Patagonia was born. The consecration for the brand came in 1977 with the Pile Fleece Jacket, a garment that provides warmth while absorbing moisture. The famous brand also achieved success thanks to its commitment to planetary protection issues.
